    INTERVIEW: Ruby Chase

    How have you been?

Life has felt like the ocean.  Vast, unpredictable and full of ups and downs.  Doing my best to surf the waves and enjoy the scenery

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Snake Charmer”?

Yes!  Snake Charmer is my debut single that we just released last week! We decided this would be the perfect song to start with because it truly is an enchantment.  This is a tease at what is to come over the next few months of music and content

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I wrote this track speaking to the man of my dreams that I hadn’t met yet.  At the time, I was really craving a type of love that I hadn’t experienced that was full of deep passion, love and fire.  This was my way of calling that type of love into my life.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

The music video dropped with the release of the single and we have actually since then released a Virtual reality version of the music video as well

    Check it out !

How was the recording and writing process?

I met the two writers at a rooftop mixer called “Meeting of the Minds”.  When I told Jordan Casty, one of the song writers that I make indie pop meets tribal bass and was looking for a producer, he pointed across the room to a bad boy looking man and said, “thats your new producer”.. He was pointing to Garret Eaton.  A week later, us three were in the studio and sure enough the chemistry was real, and Snake Charmer was born.  We wrote over the course of a few months and many sessions and then spent the last 4 years refining the track until finally, we mastered the song, created the concept and shot the video, and are now bringing it to the world.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else than when you are writing in your own?

I really thrive off of co-writing my music.  I am a people person and love bouncing off the energy of another writer. It is much more fun for me and having two minds contributing to an idea gives it life.

How has Charli XCX influence your writing?

I absolutely love her new track Boys!  She is inspiring to me in how she has collaborated with so many amazing artist and is such a strong writer.

Any plans to hit the road?

Touring is one of my main goals for next year ! Right now I am locking myself in the studio to crank out some more music for you all and keep my releases flowing steadily on my weekly youtube #rubytuesdayz campaign and my social channels building steam.  As soon as a show is ready, you can expect to see me on the road !

What else is happening next in Ruby Chase’s world?

Music Music Music ! This chapter is all about creating the music and video that will be rolling out through the end of the year ! I have some really exciting collabs on their way!  Also, no on knows this yet, but I will be launching an interviewing series later this fall
